Darien Woman Accused Of Attempted Aggravated Assault In DUI Arrest
In another case, a Darien man was arrested on a drunken-driving charge after a hit-and-run, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving attempted aggravated assault, a hit-and-run DUI, a reckless biker, theft and trespassing. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Attempted aggravated assault
- A 59-year-old Darien woman who lives in the 8300 block of Highpoint Circle was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Monday on charges of DUI, battery, attempted aggravated assault, resisting an officer, improper lane usage and failure to signal. Police said she was swerving between lanes on 75th Street, not using turn signals and not maintaining a constant speed. She then turned onto Brookbank Road, drifting into oncoming traffic. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

- A Darien man who lives in the 6700 block of Sweetbriar Lane was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Friday on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving an uninsured car. Police said they responded to a hit-and-run crash at 75th Street and Cass Avenue. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Reckless biker
- A motorcyclist was seen about 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Plainfield Road performing wheelies while having no visible taillights and no license plate. The man was stopped in the parking lot at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 Cass Ave. The rider, a 20-year-old Downers Grove man, was cited on charges of operating a motorcycle on one wheel, improper lighting, driving an uninsured vehicle and having no valid registration. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Theft

- Items were stolen from multiple lockers Friday at Darien Sportsplex, 451 Plainfield Road. The reported loss was $440.
- A person reported a black Apple iPhone 15 stolen about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Q Bar, 8109 Cass Ave. The person accidentally left the phone in the restroom. The phone was valued at $1,040.
- A person reported making a purchase Wednesday at the self-checkout counter at Walmart, 2189 75th St. The person accidentally left a phone there. Video shows the next customer stealing the phone, putting it in a front pocket and then proceeding to leave the store. The total loss was $1,500.
Trespassing
- A 37-year-old man with no current address was cited about 6:30 a.m. Saturday on a criminal trespassing charge. Police were called to the shopping center southwest of 75th Street and Cass Avenue about the man.
