Fitness Chain Set For Darien This Winter
The center's "Judgment Free Zone" will give members options, its owner said.
DARIEN, IL – A Planet Fitness is set to open this winter at a Darien shopping center.
Earlier this week, Planet Fitness franchisee Epic Fitness Group revealed its plan, but did not give an exact opening date. A spokesperson said the date has yet to be announced.
The fitness center is slated for the shopping center northeast of 75th Street and Cass Avenue. It would be in the space formerly occupied by American Freight and Sears.

In May, an area developer told Darien officials that Planet Fitness was coming. The chain has more than 2,700 locations in the United States and five other countries.
The Epic Fitness Club runs more than 60 Planet Fitness clubs in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio.

In its news release, Epic said it would bring the "Judgment Free Zone" to Darien, giving members fitness options.
