Hinsdale Police Reports: Police Impersonator, Theft, Property Damage
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through Jan. 12.

Hinsdale, IL - DVDs valued at $70 and a gift card valued at $55 were reported missing from a house in the 400 block of The Lane after a New Year’s Eve party.
A cell phone was reported stolen from the restroom Jan. 5 at a Shell Gas Station, 210 E Ogden Ave., after it was set down and left behind. The phone was valued at $550.

Hinsdale Hospital security reported someone broke a window Jan. 8 at Hinsdale Hospital, 120 N Oak St. The damage was caused by a pellet gun and a white four-door Toyota was seen driving away when the damage occurred. The driver was described as a male, about 30 years old, medium complexion, short beard and short black hair.
Arthur J Seter, 21 of the 1400 block of E Hull Road in Wheaton, was stopped Jan. 8 for speeding at Ogden Avenue and Route 83. He was in possession of a green leafy substance that field tested positive for cannabis. A loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia were also located during a search of the car. Seter was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver- 30-500g- felony, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

A known suspect entered a construction site Jan. 8 in the 10 block of W Kennedy Lane and claimed to be a Hinsdale police officer and gave workers a second warning. Workers reported the person had gone to the site on a previous day and stopped the concrete workers from working.
A mother reported her 10-year-old daughter and her friend were walking home from school Jan. 8 at The Lane and Justina Street when a man in a white pickup truck waived at the girls in an alarming nature. The girls ran home and told a parent. The man is described as 30 to 40 years old, driving a newer white Chevrolet four-door pickup truck with a wood rack in the bed.
A lockbox valued at $10 with two house keys was missing reported missing Jan. 9 from a car in the 10 block of Harrison Place.
Police were dispatched Jan. 9 to a report of an intoxicated person at a gas station in the 100 block of E. Ogden Avenue. Viviana Y Marin, 21 of the 10100 block of S. Commercial Avenue in Chicago, was seen to be to be under the influence of alcohol. Marin submitted to testing that indicated Marin was over the legal limit. Marin was charged with DUI and released to appear in court.
A patient at ManorCare Hinsdale reported $15 was taken from her purse between Jan. 4 and 5 while it was in a bottom drawer in her room.
A 15-year-old juvenile of Westmont acknowledged taking a shirt from the girls’ locker room Dec. 15. at Hinsdale Central High School. She was charged with theft, and the shirt was returned to the victim.
Someone tried to open lines of credit using a victim’s information Jan. 5. The victim was contacted by the banks and the credit applications were denied.
