Hinsdale Police Reports: Resisting Officer, DUI, Theft, Reckless Driving
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through March 29.

A 17-year-old boy was stopped March 19 for speeding and improper passing of vehicles at 6th and Washtington streets. The boy was in possession of a fraudulent ID, and he had more than the allowed number of passengers. He was issued traffic citations and was released from the traffic stop.
Someone used identities March 26 to file fraudulent tax returns.

Someone tried to pay for two cartons of cigarettes and a bottle of orange juice March 23 with a credit card that was declined. The clerk informed person that the card had been declined, and person picked up the items and walked out the door in the 0-100 block of Grant Square. The stolen items were valued at $146.88.
Someone called a woman on her cell phone March 23 and made comments of an insulting nature.

Joseph Phalen, 46 of the 100 block of S Lawndale in Elmhurst, was stopped March 23 for speeding and failure to signal when required at Ogden Avenue and Pasquinelli Drive. Phalen was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. He refused testing to determine BAC. He was charged and released to appear in court.
A Manorcare resident reported that her clothing was missing March 5 after she was transferred to Hinsdale Hospital. The clothing was valued at $105.67.
Police were sent to a worker dispute Feb. 29 in the 600 block of Harding Road. A contractor reported that his employer, a known suspect, damaged the windows on his vehicle. The employer, identified as Dominic S O'Neil, 46 of the 600 block of Harding in Hinsdale, did not cooperate with police and resisted arrest. O'Neil was charged March 24 with resisting/obstructing an officer and was released to appear in court.
Someone reported a flower planter valued at $35 went missing March 26 from the front yard of her residence in the 700 block of S Lincoln Street.
Someone reported her car was damaged March 26 while it was legally parked in the Grant Square parking lot. White paint transfer was observed on the driver’s side rear quarter panel, but no suspect information was available.
An elderly person received a phone call March 10 from someone who claimed that she won a lottery and that she needed to send money to cover the tax on the winnings. The elderly person sent a total of $21,000 via checks, money wire and overnight mail.
Police were sent to a traffic altercation/road rage report March 26 at York Road and Ogden Avenue. Robert V Wilson, 57 of the 400 block of Oak Brook Road in Oak Brook, was involved in the incident and was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. Wilson submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was charged and released to appear in court.
Someone reported two of his checks with forged information had been presented to a financial institution for payment between Feb. 18 and March 27. The unauthorized checks totaled $828.50 and were made out to a known suspect.
Police were sent March 29 to a report of a driver asleep at the wheel in the 200 block of E Ogden Avenue. Markis M Kinsey, 30 of the 3800 block of W Monroe in Chicago, was observed to be under the influence of alcohol. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was charged with DUI and released to appear in court.
