Men Arrested In Darien Walmart Fight

In another case, a mail carrier was charged with driving on a suspended license, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving disorderly conduct, a suspended license, domestic battery, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:

Store fight

  • Four men were charged about 10:30 p.m. Friday on charges of disorderly conduct. This was after officers were called about a group of men fighting in the parking lot at Walmart, 2189 75th St. They were a 33-year-old Bolingbrook man, a 23-year-old Orland Park man, a 22-year-old Bridgeview man and a 21-year-old Plainfield man. They were released and given a date to appear in court.

Mail carrier cited

  • A resident told police about seeing a mail carrier strike a mailbox with a vehicle and drive away about 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Golfview Drive. The carrier, a 29-year-old Tinley Park woman, was charged with driving with a suspended license. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

Domestic battery

  • A Darien man who lives in the 7400 block of Brookdale Drive was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday at his home on a domestic battery charge. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • A 41-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both of Woodridge, were arrested about 7:30 p.m. Sunday on retail theft charges. Police said the pair were seen under-scanning items in the self-checkout aisle at Walmart, 2189 75th St. They were released and given a date to appear in court.

DUI

  • An 18-year-old Bolingbrook man was arrested about 5:30 a.m. Friday on a DUI charge. An officer was called to Shell gas station, 8226 Cass Ave., for a man who appeared to be sleeping in a parked car. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 31-year-old Woodridge woman was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, transportation of open alcohol and driving an uninsured car. Police said an officer saw two cars stopped in the middle of the roadway in the 8300 block of Lemont Road. The woman was one of the drivers. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
