Sweet Scarlet: DuPage County Pet Pick of the Week

Scarlet enjoys exploring, sniffing and going for walks. Her adoption fee is prepaid.

Meet Scarlet, the Pet Pick of the Week from DuPage County Animal Care and Control.

Scarlet is a 10-year-old female beagle. This sweetie has been bounced around more than any dog deserves.

Originally rescued from a home where they were living in squatter conditions, she was surrendered to the shelter and became available for adoption. While in the care of DCACC, Scarlet quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite. She attended STAR obedience class, spent many days in the office with staff and enjoyed many walks by her adoring fans, the volunteers.

Scarlet was adopted a year ago. Unfortunately, her new owner decided to return her to the shelter. Despite being bounced around, Scarlet remains the happy, sweet girl the shelter has always known her to be. She loves people and a lap to sit on. She is fun and active and very much enjoys exploring, sniffing and going for walks. But she settles down nicely, especially when given a big pile of fluffy blankets! Her adoption fee is also prepaid.

If you are interested in adopting Scarlet or another animal, visit the shelter at 120 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, or call 630-407-2800, extension 0.
