'Who Wants To Fight?': Man Grabs Darien Cop, Police Say
The man struck the officer and asked where the county's chief prosecutor lives, police said.

DARIEN, IL – A man repeatedly struck a Darien police officer and asked where DuPage County's top prosecutor lives during a confrontation earlier this month, police said.
Timothy McGreal, 59, of Downers Grove, was arrested on two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and counts of resisting a police officer, improper lighting, improper lane usage, violating the minimum speed requirement and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, police said.
On Tuesday, Patch obtained the full police report through a public records request.

Shortly before midnight April 14, the clerk at the Speedway gas station, 7502 Cass Ave., called the police about McGreal, whom she said "ripped me off yesterday," the report said.
McGreal was in the store. After the officer showed up, McGreal approached the clerk and told her that he would pay for the two Core Power protein drinks he had taken the night before, police said.

He gave the money, but threatened to sue the clerk and yelled that the store's company wanted to kill him, police said.
The officer then told McGreal to leave.
McGreal asked for the officer's name and demanded video of the incident. The officer followed McGreal out of the store.
McGreal partially backed out of his parking spot and, while facing the officer, turned on his bright lights for about 15 seconds, according to the report.
Leaving the parking lot, he revved up his engine. The officer said he noticed the car had no taillights.
So the officer tried to pull over McGreal, who drove slowly but did not stop, police said.
Another officer deployed tire deflation devices called "stop sticks." McGreal came to a stop.
McGreal refused to open his door, police said. When told that he was under arrest, McGreal responded, "F– you! You're going to jail. You're a scumbag piece of sh–. You're a f–g loser," the report said.
The officer warned he would break the window if McGreal didn't open the door. When McGreal failed to comply, the officer used a device to break it.
McGreal grabbed the officer's vest at least four times through the broken window, saying he wanted the officer's badge number and body camera footage, police said.
At one point, McGreal unfastened the side panel of the officer's vest carrier, police said.
When the officer was finally able to unlock the door, McGreal said, "Who wants to get hurt? Who wants to fight?" the report said.
McGreal then struck the officer twice in the chest with a SlimBow, a piece of exercise equipment, police said.
He refused treatment from paramedics, but yelled and swore at them, police said.
At the police station, McGreal demanded to know where DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin lives, police said.
When told that he would be taken to the county jail, McGreal said officers would need to shoot him, the report said. The officers carried him to a squad car.
During the trip, McGreal removed his seatbelt and shirt, police said.
At the store, the clerk said she did not report the shoplifting after it happened because the merchandise was valued at less than $10.
