'Wide Spectrum Of Activities': Darien Star Student
He and his two brothers raised $1,000 at a lemonade stand.

DARIEN, IL – Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Lisa Schmidt, who nominated Spencer, a sixth grader in Darien.

Why do you believe the Star local student should be recognized?
Very active in a wide spectrum of activities from all A+'s in every class all year, to football, wrestling, singers club, school musical (he was asked to be a lead but there was a conflict with sports) to Boy Scouts, to fundraising for camp Kesem (nationwide free camp for kids whose parents are affected by cancer). He and his 2 brothers raised a $1,000 at a lemonade stand. Volunteers at church and is always willing to help others.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Spencer is always first to volunteer to help and take a role to be involved in his community.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Spencer!
