'You Have A Drink?': Darien DUI Suspect To Cops
The man also repeatedly threatened to hurt officers and insulted them, police said.

DARIEN, IL – A man arrested last month on a drunken driving charge in Darien made things much worse for himself after he got to the police station, according to a report.
The 45-year-old Downers Grove man, who lives in the 400 block of 41st Street, was stopped on Cass Avenue after an officer noticed that his car had extensive front-end damage and an unknown object dragging underneath, police said.
Patch obtained the police report through a public records request.

During the stop on the night of Jan. 26, the man said he had been at a friend's house, then indicated he was at Q Bar, police said. He did not seem to know that his car was damaged and said he had "four, five beers," police said.
While at the police station, the man yelled insults from his holding cell, calling officers such things as "m-----f-----s," "stupid f---s," "stupid pig" and "c--t," according to the report.

At another point, the man began to cry, saying he had gone to a funeral earlier in the day. When asked what the police could do, the man said, "Shut the f--- up," the report said.
Police said he then asked several officers, "You have a drink?"
The suspect said he could stay in the holding cell as long as he wanted, saying he loved it there. But he was warned he could be charged with trespassing if he did not leave.
When an officer attempted to move the man, the suspect swatted the officer's hands away and then swung his left elbow back toward the officer, police said.
Officers brought in a friend of the man to help de-escalate the situation, but she did not succeed.
Noticing a swollen bump on his head, officers decided that the man needed to be taken to the hospital.
When medics arrived, the man told officers, "I am going to cut your f------ throat" and "Come over if you are a man," the report said.
Moments later, the suspect said he intended to spit at someone, so an officer shielded any saliva from contacting officers or medics, police said.
The man was then taken to the hospital.
Besides DUI, the man was charged with battery, assault, resisting an officer, trespassing on state land and disobeying an officer's order.
A prosecutor denied a request for felony charges against the man, according to the report.
