2 Hospitalized After Fight, Stabbing In Highland Park

A neighbor dispute led to two people being hospitalized, including one that was stabbed, at a residence in Highland Park early Wednesday.

A neighbor dispute led to two people being hospitalized, including one that was stabbed, at a residence in Highland Park early Wednesday.

Highland Park Deputy Police Chief William Bonaguidi said the police department received a report of a fight around 11:44 p.m. Wednesday in the 3500 block of Western Avenue.

Bonaguidi said two neighbors were involved in a dispute that led to a physical fight.

According to preliminary fire department radio traffic, police arrived on the scene and reported one of the subjects involved had sustained a stab wound.

The second person involved was injured after being hit in the head with an object.

Paramedics transported the stabbing victim to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The victim’s condition was not released but Bonaguidi said the injuries were non-life-threatening.

The second subject was transported to Highland Park Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Bonaguidi said the incident remains under investigation and will be reviewed by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Bonaguidi said that additional information will be released if charges are approved in the case.
