Construction on Deerfield Metra Station Expected to Be Complete By End of Year

New renovations to Deerfield train station will replace the roof and floor while maintaining its historical character.

The Deerfield downtown train station is about to get a facelift and construction is expected to be complete by the end of the year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

“Both the new cedar roof and oak floor are designed to maintain the historic look of the station,” according to Assistant Village Manager Andrew Lichterman.

The Regional Transportation Authority and the Village Board of Trustees approved an intergovernmental agreement earlier this month authorizing Deerfield and Metra to replace the roof and floor, the Chicago Tribune reports.
