Cub Scouts Set To Launch Rockets

After leading Tuesday's Village Board meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance, Deerfield Cub Scout Pack 450 let the persons there know what they like about Scouting.

Topping their list were camping, The Pinewood Derby and "The rocket launch." That event takes place at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Shepard Middle School. Many of the Scouts brought their rockets along.

Mostly, Scouting us about enjoyment, according to Pack Leader Lydia St. John. "Scouting is geared around one thing, fun," she said. "They have the opportunity to do things they would not ordinarily do."
