Democrats Of Northfield Township Caucus Announce 2021 Candidates
Candidates will fill the roles of Supervisor, Trustees, Assessor and Clerk.

Last night, 123 members of the Democrats of Northfield Township Caucus met and nominated an exciting new slate of highly qualified candidates for Northfield Township government including Supervisor, Trustees, Assessor, and Clerk.

With varied backgrounds in business, finance, non-profits, law, and government, the slate, led by current Northfield Township Trustee and candidate for Supervisor, Shiva Mohsenzadeh articulated a mission for the Board that centered upon delivering the highest quality service to every resident in the township with an emphasis on efficiency, integrity, fiscal responsibility, and transparency.
“The Northfield Township Board has done good work in the past, but this slate is passionate about providing the highest quality service in the most innovative and efficient way to maximize taxpayer dollars,” said Mohsenzadeh, current Trustee and candidate for Supervisor. “Residents’ needs have only increased during the pandemic and it is our job to make sure that the Township’s safety net and property tax support services are readily available and reaching those who need them most.”

The final slate includes an impressive group of long-time residents looking to give back to their community, including:
- Candidate for Northfield Township Supervisor: Shiva Mohsenzadeh, current Northfield Township Trustee and Chief of Staff for State Senator Laura Fine.
- Candidate for Northfield Township Assessor: Alida Nally, current Northfield Township Deputy Assessor and a Certified Illinois Assessing Officer (CIAO) with 23 years of experience in real estate appraisals.
- Candidates for Northfield Township Trustee:
o Vincent Pace, a small business owner who runs Albeca Financial, a Northbrook-based real estate investment finance company.
o Daniel Schack, VP of Sales Operations for Rico Industries, a family-owned Niles-based manufacturer of sports-licensed novelties.
o Kate Spears, District Director for Rep. Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz and owner/founder of Compel Communications, a strategic communications firm.
o Scott Ottenheimer, a Vice President at at QBE Insurance Group, a top 20 insurance and reinsurance company and also a practicing real estate broker.
- Candidate for Northfield Township Clerk: Caryn Fliegler, External Affairs Manager, Grants and Foundations at The Josselyn Center.
“We couldn’t be more excited about these candidates,” said Tracy Katz Muhl, Northfield Township Committeeperson. “They have serious professional chops and will bring a fresh perspective and creative ideas to the Township during a time when smart, effective, and human-centered government really matters.”
The Northfield Township municipal government serves around 83,000 residents throughout the cities of Glenview, Northbrook and Northfield. A map of the Township can be found here. Some of the services that the Township provides include emergency human services such as the Northfield Township Food Pantry, property tax counsel, and road and sewer maintenance.
