Drunken Driver Rear-Ends Stationary Cop Car Dealing With Another DUI: Riverwoods PD Blotter

RIVERWOODS, IL — The following information comes from the Riverwoods Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. - Erdenesuvd Altanshand, 35, of the 400 block of Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire, is accused of obstructing traffic, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 6:59 p.m. Aug. 21, at Lake Cook and Saunders roads. Police were called to a report of a driver asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle, later identified as Altanshand, who was also blocking traffic. She was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 11.
- Leslie D. Corona, 24, of the 2700 block of W. Cheyenne Road, Waukegan, is accused of speeding, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 12:21 a.m. Aug. 24, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. She was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 9.
- Elizabeth S. Alanis, 29, of the 2500 block of West Jarvis Avenue, Chicago, is accused of improper passing of an emergency vehicle, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 12:37 a.m. Aug. 24, near Lake Cook and Portwine roads. A stationary and marked Riverwoods police car was at the scene of an unrelated DUI arrest when they say Alanis rear-ended the police vehicle. She was arrested by the Cook County Sheriff's Office. Alanis was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 7.
