Election 2023: Village Races Take Shape In Deerfield

The consolidated municipal elections are set for April 4 with races for village and school boards, among others, on the ballot.

DEERFIELD, IL — With Election Day less than 10 weeks away, voters are beginning to figure out who they might vote for. The consolidated municipal elections are set for April 4, with early voting getting underway in Lake County March 20.

DEERFIELD VILLAGE BOARD

Three seats on the Deerfield Village Board will be up for grabs on Election Day. Four candidates will be on the ballot for a four-year seat, according to Deerfield Deputy Village Clerk Daniel Van Dusen.

The current terms of trustees Larry Berg, Elaine Jacoby and Bill Seiden all end in April. The three are seeking reelection as part of the Deerfield Village Caucus 2023 slate. The trio will be challenged for the spots by independent Christopher M. Goodsnyder.

DEERFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD

Three seats on the Deerfield Public Library Board will also be voted on in an uncontested race. Current trustees Ken Abosch (president) and Luisa Ellenbogen (secretary) are running for reelection. Stephanie Brand's name will also be on the ballot for a six-year seat on the board. Trustee Kyle Stone is not running for reelection this April.
