Jay Lerman Crowned Mr. DHS

Students cheer event as part of Deerfield High School School Chest.

Deerfield High School’s Jay Lerman was crowned Mr. DHS Dec. 18 in the auditorium as one of the major events of School Chest, which raised $97,790.81 for the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) this month.

Lerman emerged from a field of 13 candidates including Jamie Rosenberg, Matt Gold, Ryan Hanna, Alex Shifrin, Brian Schmidt, Sam Modro, Eli Schmidt, Jake Taub, Tyler Welter, Jake Dahl, Addison Jacoby and Andrew Ferdman.

The participants had to answer questions before the audience and perform an entertainment routine as well as do a chorus line number as a group. “The senior boys danced, sang and rollerbladed for School Chest 2013:  GLASA,” Student Activities Director Brian Verisario said.  “They put on an amazing opening number.”
