Deerfield, IL - On Saturday morning, November 23rd, North Suburban Church will hold its 21st annual Project Share onsite at 200 Lake Cook Road. Project Share is a local outreach event where members of the church community and other volunteers gather to assemble hundreds of Thanksgiving baskets for under-resourced families in the Chicagoland area. These baskets are distributed to these families through local ministry partners of North Suburban Church. The event begins at 8:30 am and concludes around 11:30 am. Watch a short video about the process here.

On Thursday afternoon, November 21st, volunteers will gather to unload pallets of food items from Sunset Foods, which provides the food at cost. Items include frozen meats, cereal, canned goods, pasta, rice, potatoes, and prepared foods. On Saturday morning, November 23rd, volunteers will gather to pack the food into laundry baskets for distribution. Each basket is designed to provide for a family of 4-6 members. About 1,440 baskets will be assembled this year.

The assembled food baskets are picked up onsite and distributed by several ministry partner organizations across the Chicagoland area. These organizations have direct contact with under-resourced families and distribute these baskets to them. One of these partner organizations is Family Empowerment Centers. Scott Manke, the organization's founder and Executive Director, says, "Our partnership over the years with Project Share has allowed us to feed well over a thousand families and bring the hope of Christ to them; we just couldn’t have done that without North Sub Church.” Senior Pastor Tim Higgins of North Suburban Church added, “Seeing two hundred people young and old join together in a common cause is a great reflection of this Thanksgiving season. Project Share is a chance for our congregation and community to give back out of the blessing we're so grateful to have received."
