Plan for Townhomes Sent Back to Builder
Nearby residents voice concerns over proposal for Chestnut Street lots.

A proposed nine-unit townhome near Deerfield’s Metra station was sent back to the builder by the village’s Plan Commission last week.
A plan by Deerfield-based Jacobs Companies to acquire two Chestnut Street lots, demolish the buildings currently there and then construct nine townhomes in a U shape needs work, the Commission concluded.
The Deerfield Review reports several concerned neighbors voiced their displeasure with the plan when it came before the Commission.

“Criticism included adding too much density to the neighborhood, reduction of open space, declining property values, less quality of life, a poor fit the neighborhood, air conditioning noise, potential flooding and an invasion of privacy.”
