Annexation Agreement Between Riverwoods, Deerfield to Bring Coffee Shop, Restaurant
An agreement between the two communities call for annexation of land at the intersection of Deerfield and Saunders roads.

A 10-year intergovernmental agreement between Riverwoods and Deerfield will allow local business owners to open a coffee shop and separate restaurant near the intersection of Deerfield and Saunders roads.
The revenue sharing agreement is expected to be approved in early September and will allow for all three parcels to be a part of Riverwoods, according to Riverwoods Mayor John Norris and Andrew Lichterman, Deerfield's assistant village manager in the story by the Chicago Tribune.
Two local entrepreneurs Anil Abbott and Upasana Abbott needed approval from both towns because the coffee shop would be in Riverwoods while the restaurant would be located in Deerfield.

The land swap entails Deerfield to de-annex 780 Saunders and Riverwoods will then annex it, according to a Request for Board Action.
The Abbotts, who already operate a gas station at the intersection of Deerfield and Saunders, anticipate to open the coffee shop later this year and the restaurant in 2017, Anil Abbott said last month in the story.
