Sex Offender Nabbed For Living Near Daycare: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The following information comes from the Lake County Sheriff's Office and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS

CONTEMPT OF COURT

Richard H. Osvath, 64, of the 39300 block of N. Carol Lane, Beach Park, had a warrant out of Cook County for contempt of court, and was arrested July 28 in the 39300 block of N. Carol Lane, Beach Park. A future court date in Cook County was to be determined at the time of the report.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

Steven H. Barston, 47, of the 1200 block of Manassas Lane, Long Grove, had a warrant for harassment by telephone, and was arrested July 28 in the 1200 block of Manassas Lane, Long Grove. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 21.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

• Carlos N. Avilez, 41, of the 4000 block of Thistle Lane, Zion, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, open transportation of alcohol, and was arrested July 28 in the 10300 block of W. California Avenue, Beach Park. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 10.
• Masapara Martinez Ovencio Rodriguez, 33, of the 2600 block of Horeb Avenue, Zion, is accused of DUI alcohol, open transportation of alcohol, and was arrested Aug. 1 at Route 41 and Kelly Road, Wadsworth. Rodriguez was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 17.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO PROPERTY

Eric G. Hewitt, 40, no permanent address, is accused of criminal trespass to property, resisting arrest, and was arrested July 28 in the 39000 block of N. Sheridan Road, Beach Park. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 3.

VIOLATING AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

• Jennyfer Nevarez-Cervantes, 26, of the 700 block of Court of Birch, Vernon Hills, is accused of violating an order of protection, disorderly conduct, and was arrested July 29 in the 26200 block of N. Route 83, unincorporated Mundelein. She was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and was assigned a court date of Aug. 5.
• Samir Pelinkovic, 35, of the 900 block of Arlington Court, Buffalo Grove, had a warrant for violating an order of protection, and was arrested July 31 in the 900 block of Old Arlington Court, Buffalo Grove. He was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and was assigned a court date of Aug. 5.

SEXUAL OFFENDER LIVING WITHIN 500 FEET OF A DAYCARE

Jaime Hurtado, 48, of the 500 block of Baldwin Avenue, Waukegan, a sexual offender, is accused of living within 500 feet of a daycare, and was arrested July 30 in the 500 block of Baldwin Avenue, Waukegan. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 11.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Jose C. Vera, 32, of the 2600 block of Kennedy Drive, North Chicago, had a warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer, and was arrested July 30 in the 2600 block of Kennedy Drive, North Chicago. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 21.

POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Sequoyah C. Hubbard, 26, of the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, North Chicago, had a warrant for possession of child pornography, and was arrested Aug. 1 in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, North Chicago. He was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and was assigned a court date of Aug. 19.

AGGRAVATED FLEEING TO ELUDE

Pablo Moreno, 22, of the 900 block of Ronald Terrace, Round Lake Beach, is accused of aggravated fleeing to elude, aggravated speeding, improper transportation of cannabis, and was arrested Aug. 1 at Rollins and Drury roads, unincorporated Grayslake. He was being detained in the Lake County Jail at the time of the report and was assigned a court date of Aug. 21.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Jorge Zarate, Jr., 20, of the 1100 block of Yeoman Street, Waukegan, is accused of driving while license suspended, improper transportation of cannabis, suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested Aug. 1 at Longview and Sheridan roads, Waukegan. He was released following his arrest.
