Smoking, Drinking Down at DHS, HPHS; Pot Use Higher than Average
The stats are part of the Illinois Youth Survey.

Fewer District 113 students are smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol than they did two years ago, but more seniors are smoking pot than the average number across all of Lake County, according to an article in TribLocal.
The numbers come from new data from the Illinois Youth Survey, which was taken by 779 sophomores and 717 seniors at Deerfield and Highland Park high schools, as well as by students in the feeder middle schools, the article says. The results show that 34 percent of seniors said they had used marijuana in the past 30 days, compared to 24 percent across all of Lake County. Twenty-six percent of seniors said they had smoked pot and then drove in the past year.
