Students Start Non-Profit To Assist Kids: Deerfield Heroes

High school students Samantha Feinberg and Sydney Holubow, of Deerfield, created a company to help locals kids in grades K-5.

DEERFIELD, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
During quarantine, the girls have provided over 200 students K-5 books, arts and crafts, games, free tutoring services and food. In the next month, they are scheduled to deliver another 500 boxes. Each box is made with a designated theme to ensure it's to the child’s liking.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
They are both high school students with big hearts looking to help underserved youth.
