LRS will collect non-artificial trees through Jan. 22 on its regular collection day at no additional cost to residents.

DEERFIELD, IL — If you're ready to take the tree down, the Village of Deerfield and its recycling service, LRS, are here to help. Starting next week on regular collection days for residents, LRS will collect non-artificial trees at no additional cost.

The service will continue through Jan. 22, 2025, according to the Village of Deerfield.

Officials are asking residents to not put the tree in a plastic bag and be sure to remove all tinsel, lights and ornaments. If the tree is over 6 feet tall, it should be cut into two pieces. Trees must be placed at the curbside. Real wreaths without wire are also accepted.
