Stitcher will make her second trip to the State Meet Thursday through Saturday at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. It will also be her sixth State Finals as a Warrior with two trips each in diving, gymnastics and now track. She will be joined by Hayley Dorfman who placed second in the 100-meter dash.

In the boys’ league meet, the Warriors racked up 141 team points by winning seven of the 18 events easily outdistancing second-place Highland Park with 113.

Donald Middlebrook added 38 of those tallies every which way by winning both the pole vault and 400 meter dash, taking second in the 200 and teaming with Jacob Balder, Brett Freedberg and Michael Lee to claim the 4x100 relay.

Alex Gold was also a double champion winning both the 1,600 and 3,200. Like Stitcher, Gold is no stranger to multiple state meets. He competed in the 2011 and 2012 State Cross Country Meet and last year’s track finals. He will try for his fourth statewide competition Thursday with the rest of the Warriors at the Niles West Sectional.

Chris Douglas was another Deerfield champion winning the 300 intermediate hurdles and taking second in the 110 high hurdles. He added a third as part of the 4x400 relay team with Evan Linton, Patrick Brunk and Charles Nash.

Dominick Dibenedetto was the other Warrior champion with a win in the shot put. Other second place finishes were Alex Williams in the long jump and the quartet of Jordan Abosch, Rich Max, Linton and Nash in the 4x800 relay. Freedberg added a third in the 100, Casey Spiwak in the discus and Charlie Kogan in the triple jump.
