On Friday August 29th 2025 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois . “A Multifaceted 62 Convention was inaugurated by around 50 elected officials and community leaders followed by Friday prayer by thousands of participants.
The annual conference of the Islamic Society of North America is considered by many to be the biggest assembly of Muslims in the United States. For the benefit of our community, it draws thousands of people and functions as a social and spiritual gathering. According to Mir Khan, Chairman, Islamic Society of North America Steering Committee, the convention draws not only Muslim Americans but also representatives from other religions, international delegations, and heads of state and municipal government.
There is more to Islamic Society of North America Convention than just the Muslim community coming together. Syed Imtiaz Ahmed, the president of Islamic Society of North America, stated in his inaugural address, "We want to bring people from all backgrounds and religions together in the spirit of peace and greater understanding." He went on to say that although the Convention is by Muslims, it is for everyone. The Convention gives Muslims, visitors from other faith communities, families, businesses, and non-profit organizations a forum to network and share ideas, he said, adding that it is not simply a Muslim event but an American one.
He noted that the main focus of this year's topic, "Renewing the American Spirit: Prophetic Ideals for Challenging Times," was how faith can motivate the populace to implement constructive social change in response to difficulties and injustices of all kinds. "The Convention was a great opportunity to look back and celebrate our accomplishments and successes as an American Muslim community and at the same also look ahead to address some of the challenges we face as a community in North America" , he said with an air of hopefulness.
Ashfaq Hussain Syed Islamic Society of North America Steering Committee Secretary said, "We had a wonderful Convention."

Supreme Court Justice Mary Kathleen O'Brien summed it up really well in her remarks when she mentioned that we should all strive for justice because with justice there is peace in the world. When there is no justice, there is no peace.
Azhar Azeez, who has served as a board member and president of the Islamic Society of North America, stated, “Individuals from diverse backgrounds united at ISNA’s annual gathering to learn, network, and reinforce our community bonds.”
The Islamic Society of North America brought together an esteemed lineup of 200 notable speakers, scholars, civic leaders, and public servants to address the Convention's delegates. Remarks by Congressman Chuy Garcia and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson This event is among the largest Muslim celebrations in the U.S., featuring prominent speakers like Mehdi Hasan, Zaid Shakir, and Yasir Qadhi addressing the topic of changing Muslim.
Dr. Kasir Uddin was honored with the President's Award.

The Community Service Recognition Luncheon, which honored Dr. Imam Zaid Shakir for his lifelong commitment to community service, featured Dr. Sherman Jackson as the keynote speaker. establishing interfaith connections and promoting social justice, as stated by Mr. Azhar Azeez, a board member and past president of the Islamic Society of North America. Azeez added that over 40% of the convention speakers were female, including well-known academics and scholars like Ustadha Lehsa Prime and others. Alongside the primary programs offered by the Islamic Society of North America, conferences were organized by the MSA of the US and Canada.
