American Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing at O'Hare Wednesday Night

2 flight attendants hurt, NBC Chicago reports.

An American Airlines flight from O’Hare International Airport bound for England was forced to turn back for an emergency landing Wednesday night, according to the airline, after encountering sever turbulence.

NBC Chicago reports that two flight attendants were hurt and taken to a hospital by the Chicago Fire Department. They are reportedly in good condition. The landing of American Flight 54, a Boeing 757-200, took place at about 8 p.m., an hour after takeoff. The flight to Manchester was cancelled.

Seventy-seven passengers were aboard the flight.
