Annette Curtis Honored with Dedicated to Excellence Award

Annette Curtis was recognized with the Dedicated to Excellence Award at the Des Plaines Park Board meeting on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024.

Annette Curtis was recognized with the Dedicated to Excellence Award at the Des Plaines Park Board meeting on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024.

Since joining the Des Plaines Park District in 2022, Annette has become a vital asset to the District. She is a champion for the organization’s financial health, a dedicated trainer for her staff, and she fosters a collaborative environment across departments.

Annette's commitment to the park district goes beyond her job responsibilities. She actively participates in the Des Plaines community, demonstrating a deep understanding of its vision and mission. Her experience in tackling daily challenges and mentoring colleagues is a testament to her dedication.

Annette's recent accomplishments include seamlessly managing staff leave, overseeing payroll with a new hire, and recruiting an IT team. She ensures that her staff is properly supported, and she prioritizes excellent customer service for residents and fellow departments. “Thank you Annette, for your dedication, you deserve this recognition and we appreciate you”, stated Don Miletic, Executive Director.

The Dedicated to Excellence Award is presented to employees who have made a positive contribution to the Park District. Potential recipients are nominated by Park District staff members, and evaluated by the Employee Relations Committee and Administrators for creativity, responsibility, community relations, and customer service.
