Des Plaines to host Pearl Harbor ceremony

The 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor is on Wednesday, December 7.

Pearl Harbor survivors, World War Two veterans, and officials are expected to attend a memorial ceremony this Wednesday in Des Plaines according to the Daily Herald. Joe Triolo, 96, of Waukegan, is one of the last Pearl Harbor survivors in northern Illinois, and he is expected to attend.

Captain James Hawkins, commanding officer of Naval Station Great Lakes, will speak at the event.

The ceremony will be held in the Prairie Lakes Theater, located at 515 E. Thacker St. The event starts at 2 p.m., and it is open to the public.
