Floods Delay Renovations at Historic Campground

The April flooding has delayed a project slated for six cabins at Des Plaines’ Historic Methodist Campground, the Journal & Topics reports.

The campground received grant money from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency to elevate the cabins. Crews hope to begin work soon on raising the structures and installing concrete foundation with piers to each of them. Officials say the goal is to have the work complete by the end of June, the newspaper reports.
