Kraft Recalls 96,000 Pounds of Hot Dogs

Kraft has recalled thousands of Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners.

Kraft has recalled 96,000 pounds of Oscar Mayer hot dogs, CNN reported.

The Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners might containΒ cheese, even though the packaging does not indicate that.

"The product labels are incorrect, as they do not reflect the ingredients associated with the pasteurized cheese in the cheese dogs," the U.S. Department of Agriculture stated.

The products subject to the recall are:

  • 16 oz.Β packages –individual consumer packages– of β€œClassic Wieners Made with Turkey & Chicken, Pork Added” with β€œUSE BY 16 Jun 2014” date and product code β€œ044700000632”
  • CasesΒ of 16 oz. packages –distributed to retailers– of β€œClassic Cheese Dogs Made with Turkey & Chicken, Pork Added, and Pasteurized Cheese Product” with β€œUSE BY 16 Jun 2014” date and case code β€œ00447000005300”
The hot dogs were made on March 2 and March 3 and have the number "Est. 537H" inside of the USDA mark of inspection.
