Man pleads guilty to murdering 14-year-old Des Plaines boy
The incident in January 2015 was related to gang activity

Cesar Garay plead guilty to murdering a 14-year-old boy in early 2015, according to the Daily Herald. The shooting followed an argument between rival gangs.
Garay admitted to shooting Patrick Boswell on the evening of January 2, 2015 in Rosemont. The plea was entered just minutes before jury selection was to start for Garay’s trial. He was sentenced to 28 years in Prison.
Cook County assistant state's attorney Brian Sexton said that gang members were trying to recruit Patrick Boswell on the night of the shooting.

The victim’s mother, Patricia Frontain, and her husband have started a foundation to prevent gun violence and discourage gang activity. The foundation is called PATRICK LIVES ON …. To End Gun Violence.
"If it can happen to my son who was popular, smart, an athlete, it can happen to anyone," Frontain said.
