Pakistan independent day celebration in Wheaton attend by thousands on August 24th
Pakistan's Independence Day was celebrated in Wheaton, Illinois in a grand manner.
Consul General Tariq Karim, local officials and thousands of community members attended the event. Fashion shows, music concerts and Pakistani cuisine made the event memorable. Participants held flags and expressed their love for the Pakistan.
A grand Pakistan Independence Day event was organized by Pakistan USA Freedom Reliance at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, Illinois, in which thousands of people participated. This historic gathering was attended by journalists, diplomats, leaders of the American and Pakistani communities, local officials and a large number of people.

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, after which the Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Tariq Karim, specially participated in the cake cutting ceremony. The Attorney General, Treasurer, Board members, Mayors of various cities, US Congress representatives and Senators were also present. Sheriff James Mandrick, Pakistani-American and DuPage County Board Member Sadia Gul covert, Naperville City Councilor Ashfaq Hussain Syed and other dignitaries also attended the event and most of the guests were presented with honorary awards.
Sadia Khan of Ethnic Trends organized a spectacular bridal fashion show and exhibition at 6 pm.

Consul General Tariq Karim, in his address, said that Pakistan is striving to build a modern, democratic and prosperous country in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. He mentioned Pakistan’s effective and decisive response to Indian aggression and said that Pakistan’s success is not only a reflection of the military but also the determination, unity and professionalism of the entire nation. He stressed that Pakistan believes in the peaceful resolution of all conflicts.
Stalls of local companies were set up at the event, which included traditional costumes, scarves, jewelry and food items. The flavors of Pakistani cuisine, national songs and anthems made the event more exciting. Women, children and elders were all holding Pakistani flags and expressing their love for the country.
Iqbal Khan, the spirit of the event and the president of the Pakistan American Friendship Association, said that they have been organizing the Independence Day festival for many years and the full participation of the community is its real success.
Pakistani-American singer Tehseen Javed and local artists made the event memorable with their performances. The hall was packed with people and the audience applauded the gathering.
Finally, Consul General Tariq Karim said that freedom is a great blessing of Allah, although we live in America, the value and love of Pakistan’s freedom is always alive in our hearts. He thanked the organizers and participants and said that Pakistani living abroad further brighten the identity of Pakistan with their lo
