2 Cars Stolen In 2 Days In Downers Grove

Police are investigating a pair of car thefts that were reported in Downers Grove July 13 and July 14.

DOWNERS GROVE — Two cars were reported stolen in Downers Grove in just two days, according to the village's most recent police blotter.

On July 13, a car was reported stolen from the 5100 block of Blodgett. Police say the victim parked his 2014 Lincoln in his designated space in the parking lot around 3 p.m. on July 12. Around 10:25 a.m. the next day, he went out to find the car was no longer in the lot. Police say the victim has the only set of keys.

Police were called to the Best Western at 3010 Finley Rd. on the morning of July 14 for a report of a vehicle theft. The victim told police his coworker borrowed his 2016 Ford Fusion the night before and the coworker had parked the car in the Best Western lot around 9:20 p.m.

According to the police blotter, the coworker locked the car and the keys were returned to the victim. Around 8:45 a.m., the coworker noticed the car, which had been locked, was missing. Police say the victim has the only set of keys.
