2 Drive-Thru Restaurants, Car Wash Among Meadowbrook Center Proposals
Village officials will hear a first reading of proposals to add three new buildings to the 2133 63rd St. shopping plaza.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Village trustees will hear a first reading Tuesday to consider three new buildings a developer is proposing to build for Meadowbrook Shopping Center. The proposed additions include a drive-thru car wash and two multi-tenant buildings with drive-thru restaurants.
Petitioners Stellco Properties purchased the 2133 63rd St. shopping plaza in 2022. They plan to rename the development the Shoppes of Meadowbrook.
The requested planned unit development and associated special use permits were given a unanimous recommendation by the village's planning and zoning commission and will be up for a vote from the village council on March 18.

If approved, the new buildings will be constructed on the northeast side of Meadowbrook Shopping Center.
Per village documents, the proposed car wash will be located on the planned unit development's northwest lot and span 4,940 square feet. Cars will be able to pull in to the car wash mu through the southwest side and exit on its southwest side. A total of 24 parking stalls are also proposed for this building.

The first multitenant building will occupy the center lot of the planned unit development and span 7,500 square feet. A unit with a drive-thru is proposed for the eastern part of the building.
The other multitenant building proposed will occupy 6,447 square foot of space on the development's northeastern lot. The proposed drive-thru will serve a tenant on the east side of the building.
On Tuesday, village commissioners will also vote on a proposal to create a TIF district for the Meadowbrook Shopping Center site.
