DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove police are investigating a burglary and a car theft in two apparently separate incidents, according t0 the most recent police blotter.

Garage burglarized in 800 block of Lincoln Street

Police were called to the 800 block of Lincoln Street around 1:30 p.m. on April 8 for a report of a burglary. A resident told police someone had entered their garage via an unlocked side door sometime between March 18 and April 8. A chainsaw and a canvas tool bag containing Craftsman tools were reported stolen. The total loss was valued at $2,150.

Car stolen on Winthrop Court

Police say someone shattered the driver's side window and stole a 2023 Camaro from a parking lot in the first block of Winthrop Court. The owner reported that the car was stolen sometime between 5:50 p.m. on April 8 and 9:30 a.m. on April 9. The car, valued at $60,000, was later found in the 3100 block of Canal Street in Chicago.
