Car Theft, Attempted Car Theft Reported On Arbor Circle In 2 Days

A car was stolen and another was broken into on Arbor Circle in Downers Grove, according to police.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A car was stolen and another car was broken into on Arbor Circle in Downers Grove within a span of two days, according to the most recent police blotter.

The first car was reported stolen in the 2200 block of Arbor Circle. The owner told police she parked and locked her 2024 Hyundai Sonata around 8 p.m. on May 26. When she returned to her parking spot around 4:30 a.m. the following day, she realized the car had been stolen.

Police say someone attempted to steal another car in the 2200 block of Arbor Circle around 3:02 p.m. on May 27. The victim told police he parked his 2016 Kia Optima around 4 p.m. on May 26. The next day, he noticed someone had shattered his car window and shoved a screwdriver near the car's ignition.

Nothing was reported missing from the Kia, per the police report.
