District 58 Appoints New Principal for Belle Aire School
Brent Borchelt, a former assistant principal at Hillcrest and Pierce Downer schools, was appointed by the District 58 Board of Education on Aug. 12.

A new principal will be leading Hillcrest School in Downers Grove this fall.
The Downers Grove District 58 Board of Education on Aug. 12 approved the appointment of Brent Borchelt as the new principal of Belle Aire.
Borchelt served for the past two years as assistant principal at Hillcrest and Pierce Downer schools, and for two years prior to that as an assistant principal at Herrick Middle School. He was a language arts/reading teacher at Herrick from 2001 to 2009.
“In addition to his successes as a teacher and administrator, the interview teams were especially impressed by Mr. Borchelt’s caring and supportive leadership style, his extensive knowledge of best practices in education, his commitment to student-centered school leadership, and his focus on community building among students, staff and parents,” said District 58 Superintendent Kari Cremascoli in a statement. “I am confident that he will be a wonderful addition to the Belle Aire team.”

Borchelt said he is excited to meet and get to know the Belle Aire staff, students and families.
“I'm excited to have become a new team member of a solid and student-centered staff and community," Borchelt said in a statement. "I see this as a great opportunity for us to work together, to grow together, and to learn together. I look forward to hearing the successes that Belle Aire School has already experienced and to help develop the successes yet to come.”
