District 99 Students Head To National Culinary Competition
Students from District 99 will advance to the National ProStart Invitational (NPSI) in Washington, D.C. to show their culinary skills.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Students from Community High School District 99 will make their way to Washington, D.C., in April to compete in the National ProStart Invitational (NPSI). The students were part of a team that earned first place at the 24th Annual Illinois ProStart Invitational in early March.
Downers Grove South students Elizabeth H. and Abby J. were part of the team that took first place in the event's culinary category. The team was tasked with creating a three-course meal and evaluated on flavor, safety and other elements of their work.
Elizabeth and Abby were teamed up with students from Glenbard West and Wheaton Warrenville South High Schools. As part of the winning team, Elizabeth and Abby will compete in the National ProStart Invitational, slated for April 26 through April 28.

At the National ProStart Invitational, hundreds of students will compete for a chance to win scholarships to culinary and restaurant management schools.
