Downers Grove Catches Most July Rainfall in Illinois

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — More rain fell on Downers Grove in July than anywhere else in the National Weather Service Chicago forecast area.

July 2016 was the third-wettest July on record for Illinois, according to NWS, and Downers Grove received 16.13 inches of rain throughout the month.

The second-most rain fell in Hammond, which received 11.28 inches of rain, with Burnham-Hegewisch coming in third with 10.37 inches.

In Chicago for July, the average temperature was 75.5 degrees, with the highest recorded temperature at 93 degrees and the lowest at 54 degrees, according to NWS.
