Downers Grove Man Wins $500 A Week For Life

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Downers Grove man has won a top prize on the Illinois Lottery's $500 A Week For Life game.

Steven Sousanes, 50, thought he'd read his winning ticket wrong, and he took it back to the store where he'd bought it to check, according to the Illinois Lottery.

Sousanes said he freaked out when the clerk confirmed his win. "I was so happy I started shouting and running around the store!”

He took his prize as a one-time cash payment of $392,000, and he plans to get professional financial advice about how to invest the money.

Sousanes bought his winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 5105 Fairview Ave. in Downers Grove.
