Drug Possession, Gang Graffiti, Retail Theft: Police Blotter

SUNDAY, DEC. 30
Retail Theft
Joseph L. Wagner, 20, of the 5900 block of Elm Street in Lisle, was arrested around 12:42 p.m. at Jewel-Osco, 1148 Ogden Ave., police said.
Wagner was being held on the ground in the store parking lot when officers arrived on scene, police said. A store manager said Wagner stole items from the liquor department, then ran away when employees tried to stop him, according to reports.

When Wagner was stopped in the parking lot, employees recovered a bottle of Grey Goose vodka and a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey from inside his pants, police said. A second bottle of Grey Goose vodka fell from his pants and broke on the floor when he tried to run, police said.
Wagner was taken into custody by Downers Grove police and charged with one count of retail theft, according to reports. He was issued a Feb. 6 court date in Wheaton.

Possession of Drug Equipment
Jonathan A. Parthun, 19, of the 4600 block of Seeley Avenue in Downers Grove, was arrested around 12:26 a.m. in the 4600 block of Seeley Avenue, police said. He was charged with possession of drug equipment.
FRIDAY, DEC. 28
Gang Graffiti
Gang graffiti was reported on the back of a stop sign at Stanley Avenue and Rogers Street, police said. Similar graffiti was also found on the front and back of a stop sign at Rogers Street and Prospect Avenue.
Retail Theft
- A Titleist golf driver was reported stolen from a display at Golf Galaxy, 1306 Butterfield Road, sometime between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., police said.
- An unnamed man was observed taking a fleece jacket from Jewel-Osco, 1148 Ogden Ave., without paying, police said. The store manager did not press charges or have the man trespassed, but the man was advised not to return to the store.
THURSDAY, DEC. 27
Car Burglary on Finley Road
A car was burglarized in the 3200 block of Finley Road sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., police said. The front window was shattered, and a purse containing a wallet, cash, credit cards and an iPhone was stolen.
TUESDAY, DEC. 25
Stolen Gold, Silver Spoons
Several items were reported stolen from a home in the 4500 block of Bryan Place, police said. A 24K gold chain valued at $1,700, a 24K gold coin valued at $2,500 and two silver spoons valued at $200 were reported stolen by the homeowner.
