Robert B. Kretshmer, 73, of Downers Grove, was arrested around 11:10 a.m. in the 2500 block of Ogden Avenue, police said.
Police were called to a car dealership in the 1600 block of Ogden Avenue for a property damage report. A woman, who is currently residing at an extended stay hotel in the 2500 block of Ogden Avenue, told police she went to the dealership after noticing her vehicle was acting unusual.
At the dealership, staff told the woman her front driver-side tire had been deflated due to a puncture hole from a knife, police said.
Back at the hotel, police requested to view the security video of the parking lot where the alleged incident occurred. According to the footage, a man approached the vehicle around 8:49 p.m. the night before, punctured the tire and fled the scene, police said.
