Fitness Studio SPENGA to Open Downers Grove Location

Downers Grove, IL - Chicago-based fitness boutique studio, SPENGA, plans to open the first of several new suburban locations in May at 5216 Main St. in Downers Grove.

SPENGA combines cardiovascular, strength and flexibility elements of fitness, according to the company, which has signed agreements to add a total of 11 new locations throughout Downers Grove, Naperville and Oak Park.

The franchise currently has one location in Mokena and four units in development around the Chicago area. The brand's national flagship studio is expected to open in Oak Park, according to the company.

“Since we began franchising SPENGA in November 2015, we’ve received tremendous interest from entrepreneurs on both a national and local scale wishing to help evolve the SPENGA brand,” said Scott Nichols, senior vice president, Franchise Development of SPENGA, in a statement. “Given the positive feedback we’ve received surrounding our Mokena location, we’re confident SPENGA will be well-received in the Downers Grove, Naperville and Oak Park communities.”

The studio combines spin, strength training and yoga sessions with aromatherapy and a DJ-inspired playlist.
