The villages "Guiding DG" initiative will explore four plans for shaping future projects and initiatives. A meeting is planned for April

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — With its focus on a four-pronged vision for future developments and plans in the village, Downers Grove is putting its energy into its "Guiding DG" initiative. Along with introducing a website rife with information for residents, village officials are hosting a kickoff meeting April 4 that is open to community members.
Guiding DG will focus on the village's:
- Comprehensive plan
- Streetscape plans for downtown and Fairview Avenue
- Environmental sustainability initiatives
- Bicycle and pedestrian improvements
Per the Guiding DG website, "Guiding DG is a series of projects with the goal of preparing for growth over the coming decades, while improving the livability, mobility, design, and sustainability future of Downers Grove. This collection of initiatives offers a unique opportunity for you to share your voice and big ideas on items you care about."

The April 4 kickoff meeting, village officials and residents will discuss Guiding DG, its plans and goals. The event, slated for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Center, will be open to residents of all ages.
