Grove Foundation Awards Three $1,000 Grants for Community Programs

The Grove Players, Community Adult Day Care and Senior Suburban Orchestra were each awarded grants during the foundation's Dec. 5 meeting.

Three local organizations were recently awarded grants for community programs by the Downers Grove-based Grove Foundation.

During its Dec. 5 meeting, the foundation presented $1000 grants to the Senior Suburban Orchestra, Community Adult Day Care and the Grove Players, according to foundation officials.

Senior Suburban Orchestra is an all-volunteer orchestra, staffed with seniors who perform throughout DuPage County. The grant was requested to cover costs for the musical director and program supplies, officials said. The check was presented to MJ Luetgert.

Community Adult Day Care—sponsored by Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Downers Grove—provides supervision for adults who cannot be left alone. The grant was requested to cover the costs of maintaining programs for those adults, officials said. The check was presented to Karen Swanson.

The third grant was presented to Grove Players, a volunteer community theater organization that performs throughout Downers Grove. The grant was requested to pay for operating expenses and the printing of play programs and tickets. The check was presented to Richard Gannon and Susan O’Byrne.
