Heavy Police Presence At Yorktown Mall; Suspicious Person Reported

LOMBARD, IL — There was a heavy police presence mid-day Tuesday at Yorktown Center shopping mall when law enforcement investigated a report of a suspicious person, authorities said.

Police asked people to avoid the area as of about 11:15 a.m. Less than an hour later, the person was located and law enforcement determined the report was unfounded and there was no threat to the public, according to authorities.

Shortly after noon, police were clearing the area and normal operations at the mall had resumed.
