Lemon Tree Grocer to Close for Remodel
The store will close Dec. 31, and it's expected to reopen spring 2016.

Downers Grove, IL - Lemon Tree Grocer/Zest Bistro will close after its final dinner service on Dec. 31.
The business will “reconcept” and reopen in spring 2016 with an emphasis on the restaurant and bar and a smaller grocery space, according to a news release.
The downsized store will mostly focus on prepared meals, a wide beer and wine selection and specialty grocery.

Lemon Tree Grocer and Zest Bistro will be open normal hours Monday through Friday until New Year’s Eve. Lemon Tree Grind in the Downers Grove Metra Station will continue its business serving commuters with coffee, teas and pastries.
“I’m honored by the support we have received over the years,” said Shaun Black, co-owner of Lemon Tree Grocer in a statement. “The Downers Grove community has been incredibly good to us.”

Lemon Tree Grocer opened in 2010 at 935 Burlington Ave. It has been recognized with several awards, including being rated “Best Restaurant” and “Best Grocery Store” from Suburban Life Magazine in 2015.
“Shaun and I want to thank our team and patrons for the great memories we’ve had over the past five years,” said executive chef and co-owner Tim Canning in a statement. “We have been fortunate to operate a store and restaurant in a community that embraces our love for food.”
