Meet Lizzie, Downers Grove Public Library Bookologist

Bookology... it's the science of good books, making Downers Grove Public Library staff experts in the field, or bookologists.

The library is highlighting one bookologist at a time. Lizzie is the featured Bookologist this May.

Lizzie is a librarian in the Adult and Teen Services Department. She is your go-to for all things fantasy, science fiction, and graphic novels. She also enjoys reading teen, mystery, and humor books.

She explains, "I love books that completely transport me to another world. And most of my all-time favorites add some humor to the mix."

Lizzie grew up reading, getting lost in books since childhood and "famously bringing a book to every family outing." To this day she consistently stays up past her bedtime "just to read one more chapter."

When she's not reading, librarianing, or parenting, you can find Lizzie watching TV, making ceramic pots, knitting, or gaming.

Some of Bookologist Lizzie's recommendations include "Robopocalypse" by Daniel H. Wilson, "The Raven Boys" by Maggie Stiefvater and graphic novel "Jem and the Holograms" by Kelly Thompson.

Lizzie also has an entire booklist dedicated to kids picture books that she doesn't mind reading to her kids over and over (and over... and over...) again.
