Miss Sharon became a reader in the summer of her eighth grade. Her mother insisted she read Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. She balked, but agreed to read it, and then couldn’t put it down. “Up until that point,” She says “I had no idea that books could take you places.” She’s been an avid reader since.
Sharon enjoys being a librarian and bringing books and kids together. And quilting. She loves quilting. (And is great at it!)
One piece of advice Sharon tries to follow, from Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney, is “I will go to faraway places, when I grow old I shall live by the sea, and I shall strive to make the world more beautiful.”
Some of Sharon’s recommendations include If You Only Knew by Kristan Higgins, Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery (of course!), and MOO! by David LaRochelle. A display in the first floor lobby also includes her favorite movies and music CDs. Come take a look.
