Trio Of Gun Arrests Linked To Top Golf Parking Lot In Past Month

The recent arrests come after last year's flurry of gun incidents that took place in the Odyssey Court recreation venue's parking lot.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Three men were arrested on gun charges linked to police patrols in the parking lot of TopGolf in Naperville in a month.

The 3211 Odyssey Court entertainment spot's parking lot has been the site of several gun-related incidents since September 2023, when a Joliet man was accused of having a loaded gun and narcotics in his car while he was parked at TopGolf.

The more recent arrests began Feb. 1 just before midnight. Boy Deion Perez, of Harwood Heights man was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and possession of a controlled substance after an incident in the TopGolf parking lot. Perez was taken to DuPage County Jail, according to the Naperville police blotter.

March 1 saw another gun arrest, with a Chicago man being charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon following police patrols in the parking lot of TopGolf, according to police records. Malik Jacorey Gulley, 31, was taken to DuPage County Jail following the incident.

A third arrest took place on Feb. 11. Commander Ricky Krakow told Patch the arrest stemmed from "self-initiated proactive patrols by a police officer in the parking lot" of Top Golf. Krakow told Patch officers initiated a traffic stop after the car left the TopGolf lot. The driver then pulled into the Whirlyball lot at 3103 Odyssey Court, Krakow said.

A Lisle man was charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, driving with a revoked or suspended license and improper license plate display in connection with that Feb. 11 incident. Jihad Yousef Yamin, 23, of the 5700 block of College Road, was granted pretrial release after the arrest.

Between the September 2023 arrest and the end of 2024, more than two dozen gun arrests had been initiated in the parking lot of TopGolf, per NCTV 17.
